A life-long runner, I have competed in and completed over 16 marathons, most recently London 2022. I have qualified three times to run Boston, chose to run it twice. I have recently endeavored to take on longer distances and have completed three 50K’s, earning 3rd place overall female runner (1st in age group) in the 2022 12 Hours of Road America race.
In 2017 I completed my 4th New York Marathon as a member of “Team Boomer”. I am fit, strong, and resilient, and purposefully work to be a role model in that capacity for my children (2 of my 3 children have Cystic Fibrosis). A marathon performance requires not only a special effort on the day of the race, but the ability to plan for, commit to, and execute a training schedule.
My goal at this time is to complete the Abbott World Majors (Boston, NY, Chicago, Berlin, London, Tokyo), of which only Tokyo remains to fulfill my 6-star goal. Wish me luck gaining an entry through Abbott on Nov. 17th 2022!
My second Boston Marathon was very special to me – I was able to run it with my youngest sister, who was a much faster, gifted runner than I. She qualified for Boston on her first attempt. I, on the other hand, managed after 3 attempts. Persistence pays off!

Discipline and determination far outweigh any natural athletic/running talent I may have been blessed with. Recognizing this early on, I sought inspiration from championship runners who harness all of those things and more – the natural gift, discipline, determination, and the right positive mindset – to achieve their goals. I’ve had the great fortune to personally meet the great Grete Waitz (Olympic middle distance runner and record-holding NINE TIME winner of the NYC Marathon) and Bill Rogers, who won four Bostons and three consecutive NYC marathons. The lessons I’ve learned about goal setting, work ethic, determination, and discipline in marathoning carry over to all other professional, volunteer, and personal challenges in life. A goldmine!
In my personal life, I have been able to combine my love of running with a passion for fundraising for important causes, all with the added bonus of just keeping fit.
